In order to make your dreams
less threatening, the subconscious
uses symbols. Don’t be alarmed by
sexual, bizarre or violent dreams.
They are symbolic of something
else that can be very healing.
There are some symbols that we share in common with others. A house may represent your person. A basement may be your subconscious mind and a childhood home most likely signifies something from your past. A dream dictionary is a good place to start for symbols but should never be the final answer when discovering the meaning of your dream. Symbols are often very personal. A dog may stand for something fearsome in one person’s dream and something loving and friendly in another person’s. Start your own dream dictionary. As your dreams are interpreted, write down the meaning you have uncovered of the symbols and the people or places in the dream. You will most likely use these symbols again as you uncover your own dream language. Don't forget to send the meanings you have uncovered to me when you send me your dream for interpretation.
