Dreams and fine poetry are always symbolic. Sometimes, however, dreams use puns to get across a point. Someone may see themselves as bent over backwards in their dream and realize that they are “bending over backwards” in real life, trying to please a boss or a mate. Or what about the man who dreams he has a closet full of hats? Maybe he has been doing too much–wearing too many hats in the conscious world.
You are the author. That means that your symbols and your dreams are unique to you. Only you have the keys to unlock them. Unfortunately, the conscious mind resisted this information to start with because of what it provokes. Your conscious mind may block information because it is overwhelmed. Someone else is needed to help you find the keys that unlock the meaning of your dream. Much has been written about dreams and there is research going on even now to learn more. A dream expert can play it back to you in ways that you can accept. They can see things that you continue to miss. If they are practiced at this and knowledgeable about the workings of the mind, they can work with you to a better understanding of yourself.
